    What is this error all about I am getting It once I try to log in to the server using the sa account

    Hi Buddhika,

    I think the error is related to protocol used for connection. Check and see whether "Named Pipes" are enabled (SQL Server Configuration Manager -> Protocols for MSSQLSERVER).

    Hi Dinesh,

    Thanks for the quick reply. 

    I have checked with it now its enabled.I was able to log in to the server only after checking the save user.. Before that I got some error message on 18xxx I cannot remember the error  code.
